The View made me angry today
Fri Oct 10, 20:18 | RandomThis morning the View was on CTV when I came to work. One woman was on the couch professing the qualities of her “cruelty free silk.” She explained that “the silkworms are free to do whatever they want.”
I honestly believe this woman thought there are rolling plains of herds of silkworms roaming free, tenderly munching on mulberry leaves and frolicking in the spring air in order to make her tacky shirt.
Silkworms are boiled and killed to extract silk prior to reaching their adult form – the odds of having a “cruelty free” experience while being boiled alive are pretty low.
Regardless, the hens of the View clucked on their couch in praise of this woman’s “eco-friendly efforts.”
...I think a facepalm is in order.
