Murphy's Law has it out for me
Wed Sep 10, 08:16 | RandomI’m sick.
Anyone who knows me knows I only get sick about twice a year, if that. They also know that it always happens after I’ve done my big push to get a lot of things done at once, because my defenses just give in after fighting it off.
This time, there was no downtime – things just kept accelerating and accelerating. I strained myself and now completing everything is going to be like pushing an oar through molasses, though nowhere near as delicious.
To top that off, I have a couple of phonecalls to make – is there a corollary to Murphy’s Law that states that when you don’t need any new clients they’ll always come looking?
I’m beginning to realize how little I’ve been talking to any of my friends or doing anything fun. Other than having old Daria and Venture Brothers episodes on in the background when I’m working, I’m really stretched pretty thin for relaxation.
Such is the way of me, I suppose. Still, it would be nice to be making a little more money off of half of what I’m stressing to do, mostly to buy furniture. I have a kitchen table and chairs, a couch, a coffee table, a wardrobe, a vanity, some wall vinyls, and a bunch of little things like oven gloves and wastepaper baskets.
I also found the dresser and extra bookshelf I want, but haven’t gone to buy them yet.
As an aside: is there really anyone in this day and age who doesn’t search for someone’s name on Google after meeting them? I don’t understand why you wouldn’t.
