Yesterday's bus
Thu Jul 10, 07:55 | RandomOn my way to Literary Night, there were two girls on the bus. They were in the “punk but doesn’t really dress like punk” group of facial piercings, funny-coloured hair, and at least one tattoo.
Well, they sat down. And I noticed something.
The one with a shock of green in her hair had a tattoo on the back of her neck that was plainly visible. It was cursive and Zapfino-esque, plain black, and just one word.
The word? “Passon.”
Yes. No i, no space, a permanent mark on her body that was spelled wrong. I don’t know if she knew, but it was definitely wrong – I had to check several times before I was certain.
Before I could muster the courage to take out my camera (could anyone confirm the legality of using a camera on the bus?), they moved to the seats next to me.
Their conversation was delightfully about how difficult Greenie’s life was because of their multitude of friends.
For the rest of their ride, I had to sit and snicker in silence.
And so: I believe my interesting thing for the comic con (last year I did my Ohai stickers) may be a comic book on riding the bus in Winnipeg – a guide I’ve planned on writing for a while. It can be all underground and neat like that. Winnipeg people seem to like underground things. There won’t be many copies (I’ll probably do a bulk Lulu order), but we’ll see how this goes.
Well.. I wish I could say I’m shocked… but NOT!
What’s really scary is who uses Zapfino-esque with green??
Its nice to see that you smile and laughed…
